Our host church, the Georgia Kurdish Church under the leadership of Pastor Rezo serves the Kurdish minority people in the Republic of Georgia, the most underprivileged people group in this nation. The vision of Pastor Rezo is much bigger however. His missionary work stretches across the borders into Turkey, Syria, Armenia and even as far as Kyrgizstan to reach his people with the Gospel message.

Pastor Rezo comes from the Yezidi Kurdish background. This means he and his ancestors have worshiped Satan as part of their indigenous religion. When Christ entered into his heart, Rezo’s transformation was that of a “Saul” becoming “Paul”.  His passion and desire to see the Kurdish people worship Christ knows no obstacles, whether it is the death threats from Isis or the rejection among his own unsaved family!

You have an opportunity to do for the Kurdish people what the Lord has done for pastor Rezo – offer them a new life; prosperity in place of poverty, hope in place of despair, healing in place of brokenness.

Our ministry will focus on 3 areas:

  1. Helping train leaders within Pastor Rezo’s church to help expand missionary work among them. We will conduct leadership training seminars, evangelism seminars and a seminar on healing both physical and emotional to strengthen the church and help it grow.
  2. Prayer and intercession for the church and the area, teaching on prayer and intercession.
  3. Medical mission outreach to help meet the physical needs of the people who can’t afford medical care.

If your ministry gifts are in any of these areas and/or intercessory prayer – we need you on this team. We need teachers and preachers, doctors and nurses, and those who love people and love to share Christ.

Our destination, Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, is a city with over 1500 years of history. With the population of about 1.5 million people, Tbilisi is known for its distinctive architecture, which reflects the city’s colorful past and is an eclectic mix of Medieval, Neoclassical, Art Nouveau, Stalinist and Modernist structures.

Ancient forts and churches, museums and parks, as well as the status of safest city in Europe make it a favorite vacation spot for European tourists. They cherish the warm hospitality of the people, delicious Georgian cuisine and culture.

One day will be reserved for exploring the history and culture of Tbilisi. Bible distribution, as always, will be an important part of our ministry.

Georgia today is at the crossroads, politically and economically torn between Russia and the European Union. The same applies to the Kurdish people who are seeking to unite into an independent state. Its spiritual future of the Georgian people and the Kurdish people depends on us responding to His call at such a time as this!
