We are returning to Thailand January 12-22, 2024. The Lord continues to open new opportunities to reach this nation with the Gospel. Thailand is open to missionaries today but only one percent of the population are Christians! We see this both as a challenge and an opportunity.
The first couple days of our trip will be spent in Bangkok, the capital. We will continue building relationship with Hope Church, a network of 77 churches spread across Thailand. We will have the time of intercession for the nation and its main city as well as the royal family and the leaders of Thailand. Though a popular tourist destination, Thailand faces many problems – drugs and human trafficking being among the main ones.
The only way to stop the exploitation of the human beings in sex trafficking, drug abuse and deep poverty is the bring the light of Christ into this nation.
The second part of the trip will be spent in the North of Thailand, the mountainous region outside Chiang Rai. Our team will reach out to the Hilltribe minorities made up of many refugees from Laos and Myanmar who have escaped oppressive regimes in their home countries. They are hiding in the jungles with no hope for the future. Their illegal status does not allow them to get paying jobs, their children are unable to attend schools and they have no access to medical care or other social services. Lack of hope for the future drives many of them to suicide.
We will host a free medical clinic for them, as well as provide their immediate necessities. We need prayer warriors, those who have a gift of counseling, children’s ministers, evangelists and medical professionals on the team.
