On this mission we will travel to the small southern city Gevgelija on the border of Northern Macedonia and Greece. Only 3,000 to 5,000 among Macedonian population are Evangelical Christians, which is about 0.3 percent of the population. There are many ethnic groups living in North Macedonia besides Macedonians. Among them are Roma (gypsies), Albanian and Turkish minorities. Many of them live in poverty and without access to quality education or social services.
Our ministry will focus on encouraging and helping the local churches and working among the Roma and Turkish minority groups.
We will partner with the local church in evangelistic outreaches, building personal relationships with the people, one-on-one evangelism, intercessory prayer, teaching and training and providing help to the impoverished minority communities.
You’ll teach at an English day camp for the kids from these communities, assist in hosting free medical clinics in a village where Turkish people live. The Muslim Turkish minorities in North Macedonia do not have access to medical care and have limited educational opportunities. Many children drop out of school after the 4th grade.
The medical clinic outreach will provide free healthcare to those who have no access to any as well as preventive and health education to increase health literacy among Roma and the Turkish minorities in Macedonia. This mission is a great fit for medical professionals with a passion for providing healthcare and education to those in need. The non-medical professionals have an important part during the clinics serving on prayer teams, children’s ministry, counseling and administrative support for the clinic.
Evenings will be spent encouraging and counseling people from the church and doing other evangelistic outreaches.
Gevgelija, the city where you will spend most of the mission, is known for its warm hospitality and its name means “welcome back”. It is also just 40 miles from the Greek city of Thessaloniki, is nestled between two mountains and crossed by the river Vardar.
On a free day you will have a chance explore the beauty and get a taste of the Macedonian culture.
Northern Macedonia is a bridge between Europe and the Middle East, it is an important gateway in God’s plan for His last Harvest. We consider this a very strategic mission.

In the recent years Macedonia has experienced a deep political crisis. The crisis stemmed from the entrenched conflict between the largest Macedonian ruling party and the largest Macedonian opposition party, as well as the Albanian minority groups seeking representation in the government. Corruption among the leaders and the weak economy have been at the root of the tensions in the country. The 30% unemployment rate combined with the minimal guaranteed salary of 150 EUR created an atmosphere of despair and feelings of insecurity in the majority of the Macedonian citizens. Due to such trends, a good number of younger Macedonian citizens have left the country.

The vast majority of the evangelical believers in Macedonia are Macedonians, with the Roma population being the second largest evangelical group. There are very few Macedonian Albanian evangelical believers in Macedonia.

The day I came home from Ireland was the day the Lord told me I was going to Lebanon! So far it has been my favorite trip. He told me it was an act of obedience and if I went He would take care of my daughter. Great blessings were given during this trip and a greater blessing when I got home!
