WHY WE GO

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” genesis 12:3

Israel and the surrounding region have lived with conflict for generations. This ongoing tension affects everyday life and has created deep emotional, social, and spiritual needs among the people.

The Christian community in Israel is small and incredibly diverse. It includes Arab Christians, immigrant believers, and followers of Christ from many cultures and church traditions. This diversity brings beauty and richness to the faith—but it can also lead to division. Differences in language, ethnicity, history, and theology often make unity difficult.

At the same time, there is a real longing among believers for greater unity and cooperation, even though old wounds and divisions still exist.

Local churches and ministries serve faithfully in a very complex religious and political environment. They often face challenges such as limited resources, cultural misunderstandings, and the emotional weight of ministering in a land shaped by ongoing conflict.

Prayer is deeply needed—for unity among believers that goes beyond past divisions, for reconciliation between communities, and for peace and stability in the region.

Mission teams come alongside local believers to encourage and support them. Through partnership with churches, building genuine relationships, caring for vulnerable populations, and committing to intercessory prayer, teams help strengthen both the spiritual and social fabric of the community.

On this mission, you will spend the majority of your time in Galilee—the region where much of Jesus’s ministry took place and where our partner church is located.

This will be a meaningful time of encouraging local believers, learning about Israel’s spiritual and physical needs, building relationships, and engaging in intercessory prayer.

You’ll visit local kibbutzim and connect with the community, including elderly Russian Jewish immigrants—many of whom are Holocaust survivors. On Friday, you’ll participate in a Shabbat service at the local church, followed by a time of fellowship and a traditional Shabbat meal.

Our prayer ministry will take place in key locations such as the Golan Heights, Metula, and other strategic areas, where you’ll also have the opportunity to pray for Israeli soldiers.

During the prayer walks in Galilee, you’ll visit significant biblical sites including Capernaum, Tabgha (the site of the miracle of the loaves and fishes), the Mount of Beatitudes, Caesarea Philippi, Tel Dan, and more. A special time of worship  will take place during a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

The final two days of the trip will be spent in Jerusalem, where you’ll take part in a prayer walk led by an experienced Christian tour guide. Please note that these days will involve a significant amount of walking.

We encourage you to carefully consider your health and physical condition so you don’t miss out on experiencing the incredible spiritual heritage of Jerusalem.

Some of the key sites in Jerusalem include the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Upper Room (Room of the Last Supper), the house of the high priest Caiaphas, the Pool of Bethesda, the Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, the City of David, and the Garden Tomb.

“During these small moments of this time in Israel as I was able to see His Beloved land and precious people and I was given a new texture in my walk.    It seems as though now as I read the Word and pray there is another dimension a tangible component that was not there before.  I can actually touch them in my heart. “- Pat Duncan, Missionary to Israel 2019
