FACTS

  • Argentina is the eighth-largest country in the world by land area and the largest Spanish-speaking nation globally. Its landscape includes plains (the Pampas), mountains (the Andes), and extensive Atlantic coastline.
  • The capital and largest city is Buenos Aires, a major cultural, economic, and political center.
  • Population: Approximately 46 million people (2023 estimate). Spanish is the official language, with minority indigenous languages also present.
  • Religion: Christianity is the dominant religious affiliation. Recent estimates show around 63% identify as Roman Catholic and about 15% as Protestant/Evangelical, with roughly 19% identifying as non-religious or unaffiliated. Smaller religious communities include Jewish, Muslim, and other faiths.
  • The country’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion, and even though Roman Catholicism has historical influence, religious pluralism is legally protected.
  • Argentina is home to one of the largest Jewish populations in Latin America and a notable Muslim community, both contributing to the country’s religious diversity.
  • Many Argentines identify culturally with Catholicism, but regular church attendance and active religious practice are significantly lower than affiliation figures suggest.

WHY WE GO

While many Argentines identify as Christian, faith is often cultural rather than lived, creating a strong need for genuine discipleship and relational evangelism. Some areas show spiritual openness, yet many communities still lack access to the gospel and Bible-teaching churches. Younger generations, especially in urban centers, are increasingly disconnected from faith, calling for intentional, relevant ministry. Argentina continues to struggle with deep economic instability. Even though there are efforts to tame inflation, many families face rising poverty, unemployment, and cuts to healthcare, education, and pensions—fueling widespread public frustration and protests.  Economic hardship and social inequality—particularly among poor —present opportunities to meet physical needs while sharing lasting hope in Christ. There is a vital need for prayer for strengthening of the local churches to boldly and compassionately make disciples.

Our mission will begin in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. There we partner with a network of churches in various evangelistic outreaches, including serving in poor neighborhoods, youth ministry and street evangelism.

After several days in Buenos Aires, we will fly to Ushuaia.  Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Patagonia, Ushuaia is the gateway to the great unknown. It’s a place where breathtaking natural beauty collides with warm-hearted locals, creating the perfect backdrop for our mission trip. We believe that by exploring this enchanting corner of the world, we can spread the message of hope and share the Good News with those who need it most.

Working with the local church in Ushuaia, you will have opportunities to encourage the local believers by sharing your testimony of how God has worked in your life, do street evangelism, distribute Bibles and Gospel tracts. Our team will host a medical clinic for the underprivileged segments of the population. We still need several more medical professionals – doctors and nurses to staff the clinic. The clinic provides an excellent opportunity for non-medical professionals as well to pray with the people and introduce them to hope through Christ.

In both locations you will also have the opportunities to explore and learn about the local culture.

Our approach in every nation where we serve goes beyond surface-level volunteering. We prioritize cultural immersion, giving you the opportunity to truly understand and connect with the local community. This authentic experience will connect you spiritually to Argentina and help build lasting relationships during the trip.
